Resolutions Passed Monday
Committee One:
Delegates passed resolutions to thank Central Illinois District Mission Workers (R-09-01-05), To Continue the CID partnership with the Evangelical Church of Latvia (R-09-01-07) and To continue to support Central Illinois District Missions (R-09-01-09.
Committee Two:
The convention memorialized Synod to require uniformity in regards to workers in Word and Sacrament ministry (R-09-02-01), To require Synodical Convention review of the Synodical Commission on Constitutional matter when overtures about them are properly submitted to the Synodical Convention (R-09-02-02) and to Reaffirm the Scriptural definition of marriage (R-09-02-06).
Committee Three:
The convention approved to foster the understanding of worship through conferences (R-09-03-01) and to thank God for the life and services of Derald and Caroline Sasse (R-09-03-08.
Committee Four:
Approved that the Blue Ribbon Task for on Synodical Structure consider retaining the current structure of circuits and post recommendations at least three months prior to the 2010 convention or not deal with it at that convention (R-09-04-01), To elect the members of the Commission on Constitutional matters (R-09-04-02) To clarify and amend the current bylaws (R-09-04-05) and to provide details of the Blue ribbon Task Force’s at the 2010 Synodical convention and delay any vote until the 2013 Synodical convention.
Committee Eight
The Endowment convention voted to amend the Central Illinois District Endowment Fund to expand the board from thee to five trustees (R-09-08-02) and vote to elect the trustees this year (R-09-08-03).
The Church extension fund convention voted to amend their by-laws in resolutions R-09-08-01 and R-09-08-04.
Tuesday Resolutions Passed
Committee One:
The convention endorsed resolutions to promote Lutheran Identity in the Mission field (R-09-01-01), to expand Word and Sacrament Ministry by encouraging LCMS World Mission to increase the number of ordained missionaries in foreign assignments (R-09-01-03), to encourage congregations make use of visits from the CID Evangelism Executive and his resources to invite the unchurched, encourage faithful worship and encourage inactives (R-09-01-05), To Establish Circuit Mission Councils (R-09-01-06) and To Encourage Congregational Revitalization R-09-01-08).
Committee Three:
The convention voted to commend the Commission on Worship fo the Lutheran Service Book (R-09-03-02), To encourage Joyful First Fruit Giving (R-09-03-03), To Establish a Regular Schedule of Family Convocations (R-09-3-04)), To Encourage Congregations to Establish a Called Worker Care Committee (R-09-03-05) and to encourage the CID and Synod to develop Biblically based stewardship educational material (R-09-03-06),
Committee Four:
The assembly rescinded R-09-04-01 because it was in conflict with 09-04-03a. They voted to amend the bylaws so that two individuals from the same congregation could not serve on the Board of Directors.
Other Business:
The CID in convention approved the transfer of Redeemer, Peru, IL from the Northern Illinois District to the Central Illinois District.
Caucuses selected advisory delegates to the 2010 Synodical convention. The Rev. Melvin Weseloh is the ordained delegate. Dan Yagoo, Martha Milas and Ralph Mickley are the Commissioned Minister delegates.
