Election Restults
at the CID District Convention
July 5 - 7, 2009
Crowne Plaza, Springfield, IL

The Rev. David J. Bueltmann was elected to his fifth full term as President of the Central Illinois District on the fourth ballot at the 56th regular convention meeting at the Crown Plaza, Springfield, IL, this morning.

Rev. Bueltmann, Immanuel Springfield, has been a Pastor 68-97; Teacher 64, Mission Board Chairman (Immanuel, Springfield) 00-02; Immanuel School Board 02-06.

He has been CID President 95-present; CID VP 91-95; Circuit Counselor 85-90; CID Youth committee; CID Nominations committee (2 different times); CID Public Relations committee; CID Evangelism committee; Synodical Nominations committee (twice); Synodical Delegate 92-95; District LWML Counselor; Editor of CID Lutheran Witness Supplement.

Rev. Bueltmann additionally served on Bethesda Lutheran Home Board; OAFC Board; Kiwanis Board; Director/Founder of a Preschool; DeWitt Co. Mental Health Board; Lutheran High School Board; Athens High School Wrestling coach; Soccer coach; Little League coach; Flag Football coach; 4-H Leader; Director of Senior Citizen Center; Clinton Library Board; Brimfield Public Library Board.

Bueltmann commented, “I will us the gifts with which God has blessed me to do the best I can.  I have been always willing to be the Lord’s instrument in whatever type of service He desires.”

The Rev. Donald Pritchard was re-elected 1st vice-President and the Rev. Mark Miller was elected 2nd vice-President.

Rev. Donald Pritchard, Zion Pleasant Plains, served as Circuit Counselor, Circuit Forum Secretarty, area coordinator for "His Love-Our Response", the IDW President's Task Force on Outreach, a member of the IDW Rural Ministry Committee.  Served as LWML counselor.  Served on the Schwann Grant EOC review committee by appointment of Synodical President, Dr. Al Barry.  Also served as a member of Synod's Doctrinal Review Panel.  Served two terms on the CID Board of Directors, and one term each on the Evangelism and Parish Education Commissions.  Has served on the CID seminary candidate interview committee.  Elected as 1st Vice-President at the 2006 CID Convention and serves as Chairman of the CID Board of Directors.

He was appointed by Illinois State Police Director, Larry Trent to the position of Volunteer Chaplain of the ISP in 2003, with primary service to ISP District 9, Springfield, and District 20, Pittsfield.

Prritchard commented, “After serving as 1st Vice-President of the District and working closely with President Bueltmann, I believe that I can bring an informed perspective regarding the many and varied concerns of the office, along with a commitment to our Evangelical Lutheran Heritage in both doctrine and practice.”

Rev. Mark Miller, St. John’s, Pekin, has served as the pastor, Immanuel – Laurel, St. Paul-Carroll, NB 83-89; First-East Grand Forks, MN 89-91; St. John-Pekin, Assoc. Pastor 91-94; Senior Pastor 94 present.

Local involvement includes Laurel NE School District AIDS Policy Comm. 1988; Member, Peoria Area Civic Chorale 00-present. The Rev. Miller said, I have served on the CID BOD in some capacity for close to nine years.  I have been a parish pastor for over twenty-five years.  I have tried to be forthright, fait, and faithful in all my dealings.  In the performance of my duties I have a strong, conservative, and confessional orientation and activily seek to follow the intent and meaning of my ordination vows to uphold the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  All I can promise is more of the same, as God grants me opportunities for service in His kingdom and in our beloved Central Illinois District and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
