CID Scholarship Endowment Fund Sunday
Will They Always Be There?
CID Scholarship Endowment Fund Sunday will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Once again, envelopes will be distributed through the Sunday bulletin the week before, April 27, to be returned the following week.
The purpose of the Scholarship Endowment Fund is to provide grants to CID students attending one of our synodical universities or our seminaries, pursuing careers in fulltime church work. As costs continue to rise, we must continue to increase the size of our Endowment Fund in order to provide the additional funds needed to meet the rising needs of our students.
The question remains—“Will our pastors and teachers always be there as the need in the district and synod is there?” The answer is, “Only if we make sure the support is there for their training and education.”
Last year, we were blessed with a response of over $120,000. The ultimate goal is to bring the Endowment total to at least $2,000,000. With a modest return of 5% per year, the fund would provide $100,000 in available aid. Presently, our Endowment has $773,000. While that in itself is nice, we still have a long way to go.
Perhaps you would be interested in providing a special gift now, or through your estate. If this is the case, please contact the CID Gift Planning Counselor, Dave Rohe, for further assistance. He may be reached at 217-793-1802 or via email at drohe@cidlcms.org.
Whatever you plans, please prayerfully consider a generous, special gift to the CID Scholarship Endowment Fund.
