updated January 30, 2026

Message from the Central Illinois District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS):
On the morning of Wednesday, January 28th, we learned that the LCMS Central Illinois District President Michael Mohr was arrested by federal law enforcement. We will fully cooperate with law enforcement on this matter. At this time, Rev. Michael Burdick, first vice president, has assumed the duties of district president. We pray God’s hand of justice and mercy will prevail for all affected by this situation.

Please read the letters and notices listed. Further information will be provided as it becomes appropriate and available.
