District Leadership Changes

Message from the Central Illinois District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS):
On the morning of Wednesday, January 28th, we learned that the LCMS Central Illinois District President Michael Mohr was arrested by federal law enforcement. We will fully cooperate with law enforcement on this matter. We pray God’s hand of justice and mercy will prevail for all affected by this situation.

On February 17, 2026, at a second special session of the CID Board of Direcors, the final succession and appointments for District leadership were ratified by the Board. They are Rev. Mark Eddy, District President; Rev. Jason Braaten, 1st Vice President; and Rev. Karl Eckhoff, 2nd Vice President.
